Summer Pics

I have been behind on updating the blog so I have some pics from the month of Aug.

Adrian took her 1st trip to Adventureland, the weather was nice and sunny and not too hot!

 Adrian started Aug. 17th at a daycare center in Polk City. I was worried about her transition since Adrian has been in an in-home daycare for 3 plus years. The first week was a little hard at drop off time but Adrian really did great. The first day I picked her up she ran up to me and said "Mommy, I'm not scared anymore" :)

Since getting my new camera I try to take more pics and Adrian is getting more into "posing" :)

 Another 1st for Adrian was that she started last night Tap Dance class. Her little friend Gracin is also taking the class and they both did great!

New Camera!

We finally got a good camera that takes nice pictures!  Now we just need to just figure out how to work it and all the various options. We have had the camera for a week and are trying to do better taking pictures. I am even considering taking a class on how to use it and to better understand lighting so I might be able to take Adrian's 4 year pictures in Oct. and not have to pay someone to professionally take them.

I snapped a quick photo at Norma's house last weekend, she had plenty of flowers to test out the camera.

4th of July

This year with the 4th of July falling on Wednesday we ended up staying around Polk City. Adrian was invited to her friend Gracin's house to play and attend the fireworks in Slater.

Adrian 1st met these girls when she started at Discovery Daycare at 9 weeks old.

 I can see it now...these gals will some day below to the red hat society club :)

Summer Time Fun

 Last weekend, Adrian & I enjoyed the Governor Days in Grimes. We got to watch the parade from Aunt Jamie's lawn and walked to the carnival area for a ride on the carousel.

Clive Running Festival June 16th 2012

Grandma & Mommy competed in the 5k race both taking 2nd place in our age group and Adrian dominate the 3yd old Tadpole Trot :)

Adrian competed in the Tadpole Trot for the second year...I think next year we will try running the 1 mile race together. Adrian and I have jogged/walked 2 miles before.  She does pretty darn good for a 3 yr old running up to 1/2 mile at a time without walking.

Adrian loved the lazy river at the Clive Aquatic Center, Aunt Jamie took her on several laps around.

Outdoor Fun!

Below are some pics from the last 3 weekends. We have been getting in a lot of outdoor activities with the warm sunny weather.

 This is Adrian's good friend Gracin playing out at Big Creek State Park.

 The 1st weekend in June Adrian had a couple new experiences....fishing for the 1st time (with no hook...but she was none the wiser :) and sleeping in a camper.

Friday we took the day off of work to take Adrian to the zoo for the 1st time this year. It is always a good time for the price so we plan on going at least one more time this year.

Active Pics

Here is a hodge-podge of pics from mid April to just this last weekend...

We participated in the C.A.R.E. run on Sat. to help bring awareness to Organ and Tissue Donation. There was a nice photo of Gabe Koenigsfeld along with several other Organ ad Tissue donors. There were probably 25 other family members and friends also at the run/walk to help raise money.

 Post race pic...us gals all fared pretty well with Mom and I placing and Jamie just missed placing by 2 seconds which isn't too bad when you're carrying a future runner :). Jamie is due early November...we are all very excited for her and Mark!

 May Day Baskets for Adrian's friends!!!

 Earth Day Valley Junction 5K...this is Grandma blazing in and Adrian and I are trying to keep up to cheer.

 As I finish strong you can see Mitch and Adrian hanging close to the candy shop...made for a good snack after finishing.

 Adrian takes part in soccer with her friend Gracin on Friday nights...they look pretty guilty with their cheesy smiles. We still have a few more weeks of the camp so I should get some more candid pics.

Happy Easter!

We had a pretty simple Easter this year. A trip to Church this morning, Easter basket, a good dinner with lots of ham, and trip to the park, and a trip to Big Creek. Below is Adrian enjoying the elaborate play fort at Big Creek. This is our 2nd time out there this year and with us only living 5 mins away we plan on taking more advantage of it this year.

Adrian got lots of bath tub toys including some new rubber duckies which she loves.

Meet Oakley!!! This is our new cat which we adopted from the animal shelter in Mason City. She is the polar opposite of Pharaoh but it is nice having a furry friend in the house again.

Adrian enjoys making necklaces and Oakley loves playing with the yarn.

So what does this look like??? An ear piercing??? Well don't worry I don't believe in piercing babies/children's ears before they themselves can care for them. Adrian got up from her nap and this is what I noticed...a little sticky rhinestone from one of her valentines managed to land there.
